Sleepy!

Started screencapping The Sting, which I just watched last night, but I have suddenly become overwhelmingly sleepy. First day at my not-really-new job today - I've started back at my old job in Columbia. Not the greatest job on earth, but I did rather like and am glad to be back.

I have two other sets of caps uploading now, and might cap Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken, which I have from Netflix because I'm a dork and I love that movie (left over from my pre-teenage horse obsession). Hopefully I'll get the ones uploading now up tomorrow, but I don't know. I'll try to get them all up the near future, anyway.

So anyway, though it is unheard of for me to go to bed this early, I believe I shall. Good night!

Caps 034 :: Australia

I've been dying to see this movie ever since I missed it in theaters, so I finally got it the other day from Netflix. Definitely a new addition to my long list of favorite movies! It was incredibly good! I loved the 40s setting, the story, the characters - it was just great, and really well done. It was beautifully shot - the scenery and colors were beautiful. The actors were really good too! Nicole Kidman was perfect, and the kid who played Nullah, Brandon Walters, was amazing for a 13 year old who's never acted before! And man, Hugh Jackman is incredibly hot...

So, anyway, here's a TON of caps from Australia. Seriously, this is the most I've ever done for a movie - nearly 4000:

Caps 033 :: Pleasantville

I was looking for Pleasantville caps a while ago and was surprised not to be able to find many good ones. It's such a pretty movie! So anyway, I capped it myself.

Caps 032 :: Shall We Dance (2004)

More caps! These are from Shall We Dance, the American version starring Richard Gere, Jennifer Lopez, and Susan Sarandon. I love this movie - Richard Gere is awesome!

Caps 031 :: An Affair to Remember

I've got several sets of caps to post, including two I just capped and two I found on my computer and realized I never posted. So here's An Affair to Remember, starring Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr.

I love this movie, despite the total sappiness, or more likely, because of it. It took me a while to get used to Cary Grant's odd accent and speech, but having watched a large number of his movies, I don't notice it any more.

I could do without the heartwarming bits with the children, but Nicky and Terry's relationship on the ship is great - Grant and Kerr have great chemistry and they're very funny together. Cary Grant is a great comedian, which really shows here - the comedy elevates the movie above the totally sentimental melodrama it might have been.

Caps 030 :: The Parent Trap

Another movie I couldn't find many caps for. The Lindsay Lohan version of The Parent Trap is still one of my favorite movies, despite the fact that I am now twice the age of the main character!

My obsessive capping resulted in a ton of caps for this movie, so hopefully someone can put them to good use!

Caps 029 :: Bend It Like Beckham

Couldn't find hardly any Bend It Like Beckham caps online, so I made some of my own!

Caps 028 :: Grease

I know there's already Grease caps out there, but I was making some decks for an online trading card game I play (Smitten - come join us!) and needed more detailed caps than I could find. So I made some of my own, and figured I would share.

Here I go again...

New Mamma Mia! caps (from a different cam version) which do have considerably better quality are on the way, I promise, for anyone who's waiting. I finally found a good media player and have capped the first hour.

However, capping is pretty slow work, having to pause for every cap and go back pretty often to catch things I missed, and doing most of the dancing scenes frame by frame looking for clear enough shots.

Anyway, it's 3 AM and I can't hold my eyes open. I should be able to finish capping tomorrow morning, and get them uploaded by tomorrow night at the latest.

Caps 027 :: Mamma Mia!

I am seriously obsessed with this movie. I get like that. I got that way about Walk the Line, which I watched about 5 times the first week I saw it. Anyway, I've only seen this one 3 times, because that's all I can afford in the theater, but I finally gave in and downloaded it to keep myself from going into withdrawal.

So anyway, from the best illegal copy I can find, here are, like, a zillion caps. Seriously, this is more than Gone With The Wind. The quality is somewhat mixed, but generally not that great, being from a cam video. The beginning is actually quite good for a cam, but the latter half is pretty fuzzy. And unfortunately, the end credits, which totally rock, are very blurry, and the end credits "Dancing Queen" sequence has inexplicable German (or some Scandinavian language?) subtitles.

Still...if anyone else is as obsessed as I am, these might come in some use for icons or something. They're too pixelly for anything much bigger than that, but it's the best I could manage. I am on the lookout for a better quality download :) And the minute the DVD comes out, I'll have DVD caps! This is one I'll even pay full price for, rather than waiting till it's $9.99 at Blockbuster or Netflix. I'd even pay for a special edition of this one :)

--EDIT: Bad cam version caps have been taken down. I'll try to cap the DVD soon to replace them!

Caps 026 :: Two for the Road

I first watched Two for the Road a year or so ago and totally fell in love with it. It is by far the most underrated Audrey Hepburn movie, though it's full of outstanding stars besides Audrey. Albert Finney is excellent (and very hot) as her husband. I had only seen Eleanor Bron in Help! but she was excellent in this, as was the beautiful Jacqueline Bisset.

The very sixties feel and wardrobes turn some people off, and the scrambled, flashback-heavy chronology drives a lot of people--such as my mom--crazy, but I think both of those are part of the charm. The outrageous late 60s clothes are great, and the unusual sequence keeps you interested.

Overall, though, the main reason I love it is because I'm a hopeless romantic, and it is, after all, a love story. It's one of the better films about love and marriage, I think, because it very definitely isn't all hearts and flowers and fairy tales. It's a very real and very human love story, with lots of bickering and some genuine heartache, but also a lot of fun and humor.

So, anyway...these include DVD menus and the still gallery on the DVD, which I admit I capped entirely for this adorable pic of Albert Finney.

Caps 025 :: The Taming of the Shrew

I watched this several years ago in my world history class in high school, for some reason, but I didn't remember it at all. When we read it for my Shakespeare's Comedies & Histories class this semester, I decided to watch it again. I really loved it!

Caps 019 :: Mulan

I posted these a long time ago and then took them down due to space constraints. Now I'm on Dreamhost with tons of space, so I'm putting them up again. I think a few of these are out of order, but it's only a few...I need to fix that. Anyway, here's Mulan.
