This is the full table of icons, finally finished. This is actually the same entry I posted in when I started; I just changed the date so it's easier to find. This entry goes in my icon archives, so I won't bother with the individual batches.

Batch 04 ::39 icons (Walk the Line challenge)

On the very day they're due, here are the last 39 of my [info]icons100 icons. By the last 20 or so I was being incredibly slack and lazy so half (most) of those are bases.

EDIT My new journal layout broke all my icon tables. Most of them I replaced with more liquid ones from Bauble, but the [info]icons100 ones won't work with that, since they have titles for each icon. So I'm redoing it by hand, but I'm not redoing the big one and and all the batch ones because that's too much work. So I've taken down the tables on the individual batch posts. To see these icons, please see the main table (all 100).

-My favorites from this batch are 5, 6, 50, 59, and 61. Meaning mostly that they're the ones I'm proudest of.

-I couldn't resist doing 48. I love that face he makes.

-I'm also proud of 17 - I had major trouble with that theme.

-I'm quite proud that I managed to include some textless. I have this compulsion where every icon must have text and a border, but I'm trying to overcome it. I particularly like #15.

-2 major stretches with themes here - I did more of an "anti-colorful" than "colorful" because there really just isn't much in WTL that could be considered colorful. There are also no flowers of any kind. Except "Wildwood Flower," but that's all June and I needed John. So I used some random lyrics of "Wildwood Flower" and called that a "flowers" theme.

-I managed to include Vivian in one...I don't think I've seen any icons with her and she kind of gets left out. She kind of gets a bad rap in the movie, standing in the way of the "real" love story, and I feel sorry for her - I read where Rosanne Cash didn't like the movie partly because of its depiction of Vivian.

-I went a bit mad with the font Day Roman, usually in size 5...

-Opinions on #20 please? It's kind of...odd.

Icon project

I've made 2 more, though I haven't posted them yet. I don't actually like them much. I'm a bit stumped by some of the themes.

"Flowers?" WTL isn't really a flowery movie. There's "Wildwood Flower" but that's June and I'm supposed to be doing John (although you'll notice June managed to sneak into most of my icons). I could just stick someone on a flowered texture/base thing, but again, John doesn't really fit...not really a flowerty kind of guy.

And "secrets?" Can't think of anything for that either. There's one behind the scenes pic I found from the awards show scene, which has Joaquin saying something in Reese's ear, but I can't think what text I'd use.

Also "colorful." There are simply no colorful moments in the movie. I suppose something could be done with textures or something. I'm considering just doing a man-in-black type icon as sort of an "anti-colorful" thing. Maybe I could put him doing the whole man-in-black thing on a colorful background? Hm.

"Ice." There's plenty of fire to be had - ring of fire, promo pix of Joaquin with a flaming guitar, etc. But I can't think of anything remotely icey.

I need to work on some textless, too. I'm always very unwilling to leave icons textless, even though the text sometimes detracts from them.

But thanks lots and lots to everyone who commmented!! I looooove feedback! :)

Batch 01 :: 20 icons (Walk the Line challenge)

The first 20 icons from my [info]icons100 challenge! I am posting these here in a reduced table so all the 'coming soon' icons don't clutter it up.

Themes: alone, embrace, sunshine, all is wrong, all is right, soul food, glory, green, blue, red, time, so close yet so far away, joy, kiss, desire, i've been bad, from now on, mine, tears

-I had a lot of fun trying out styles I've never used and such. Some of the themes are tough. I think "soul food" is a major stretch, but the only food actually shown in the movie is some peanuts, which hardly qualifies. Also, that one was the first one I did, which may be why it's ugly.

-The "Rock & Roll Ruby" icon was originally meant for the "red" theme, but then I made a better one.

-One thing with this movie is that almost all the Johnny/June or Johnny/Vivian scenes are very back-and-forth. They're never on screen at the same time, which is why I have so many split icons with multiple pictures.

-I am ridiculously proud of these, and I actually like them (I usually hate my own icons because all I see are the flaws).

-Please feel free to use them because it makes me feel special! Comment with which ones you're taking or just general feedback - I'll love you forever.

Ooh! Ooh! Yay!

I bought The Legend of Johnny Cash CD from Walmart! It's the first CD I've bought since...last June. Wow. But I have to go do the online bit of my grammar midterm now, so more enthusiasm tomorrow. Oh, I love how he says "you're a mighty little boy to be a-workin' that way' in "Get Rhythm." And I like the bridge on that song. OK, I'm going now.

And I have 7 done of my [info]icons100 challenge! I'll post a batch when I have 15 or 20.

progress

Ha. I have done 2 whole icons for my [info]icons100 challenge. But one is rather sophisticated (for me) and has lots of layers and a texture and stuff. 2 down, 98 to go. Scary.
