Caps 016 :: Captain Blood

Still working through my backlog of caps. Here's Michael Curtiz's Captain Blood (1935), starring the dashing Errol Flynn and Olivia de Havilland.

Errol Flynn has positively the most adorable grin in the world. This movie is an awesome swashbuckler. The book is great, too.

Aww, I love this movie! *squees*
Ooh, me too. I would love it for Errol Flynn's grin if nothing else, but the whole thing is just great!
What is this movie about? It looks good. Can I find it somewhere?
Pirates! It's a great old swashbuckler, with lots of adventure and romance, and a swordfight between Errol Flynn and Basil Rathbone, who were arguably Hollywood's best swordsmen of the time. It was one of Flynn's first movies, before he did Robin Hood, and also his first pairing with Olivia de Havilland, with whom he made many films.

It's based on an adventure novel by Raphael Sabatini, which is also great. The film is a wonderful pirate story with a great plot and outstanding cast.
It's probably too old to be in most video stores, but a library might have it, and Netflix definitely does.
